First Kids Urgent Care is here for all your child's urgent care needs. We are happy to provide treatment for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries.

In-House Labs

First Kids is able to run effective diagnostics to provide the possible treatment plan.

Our In-House Labs Include:

  • Rapid RSV

  • Urine Analysis

  • Rapid Flu

  • Rapid COVID

  • Monospot

X-Rays

First Kids Urgent Care provides in-house x-rays to determine breaks, sprains, and fractures.  First Kids provides minor casting/splinting

Special Hours

First Kids Urgent Care offers special extended hours for when your child's Pediatrician may be closed or if you have an immediate emergency. First Kids will work alongside your child's Pediatrician to complete the perfect care plan.

In-House Pharmacy

Parents can avoid a busy outside pharmacy by using First Kids Pharmacy. We have onsite medications for most common prescriptions needed. 

Sensory Friendly

First Kids provides sensory friendly toys available to for kids who may find it hard to be in a different environment, are developing ADHA, or have been diagnosed with Autism.

First Kids Urgent Care is conveniently located on McFarland Blvd, close to the University of Alabama campus and DCH Hospital. First Kids Urgent Care is located in the same building as First Care Urgent & Primary Care for adults.

Emergencies

When injuries and illnesses become severe, it's very important to know when to reach out to emergency services outside of an urgent care setting. First responders are subject to be contacted at 911 when there is:
 

  • Unconsciousness

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Consumption of poison

  • Choking or something lodged in the throat

  • Overdose on medication or other drugs

  • Serious injury from an accident

  • Symptoms of heart attack or stroke

  • Too much consumption of alcohol

Covid Testing & Antibody Treatment

Click the buttons below for covid testing and antibody treatment forms. Covid testing can be done inside FirstKids, from your car at FirstKids (go inside to check in with reception and then you may return to your vehicle) or you can use the drive-thru method next door at First Care. Covid Results will be viewable and printable from your child's patient portal. Please give our office a valid email address. Antibody treatment is for children ages 12 and up. Children in need of antibody treatment must meet the age requirement and be in the high risk category.
